How does auto discover work?
Through the Autodiscover service, Outlook finds a new connection point made up of the user's mailbox. That is, Autodiscover uses the identification made up of a GUID, plus @, and the domain portion of the user's primary SMTP address.

How do I know if autodiscover is working?
Press and hold CTRL and then right-click the Outlook icon in the system tray or notification area on the lower-right corner of the screen. From the menu, select Test E-mail AutoConfiguration. Enter your email address and password for the domain you want to check.
