Let's Encrypt is a new Certificate Authority (CA) that offers FREE SSL certificates that are just as secure as paid certificates. This project was pioneered to make encrypted connections the default standard throughout the Internet.
Is Let's encrypt 256 bit?

Why is let's encrypt only 3 months?
Having a certificate that expires after 90 days will reduce the chances of someone exploiting any vulnerabilities that may occur. The second reason Let's Encrypt expires after such a short time is to minimize the impact of mis-issued certificates.

Can I create my own SSL certificate?
Technically, anyone can create their own SSL certificate by generating a public-private key pairing and including all the information mentioned above. Such certificates are called self-signed certificates because the digital signature used, instead of being from a CA, would be the website's own private key.
What is the difference between Letsencrypt and paid SSL?
Premium SSL Certificates come with a trust seal that you can place on your website that has been proven to increase visitor confidence and customer conversions. Let's Encrypt certificates do not offer any type of site seal.
How long does it take for lets encrypt to work?
For Let's Encrypt certificates the issuance is generally between 30 minutes and 1 hour. If the order is taking longer, it is generally because of a possible issuance problem such as: misconfiguration of the domain.
