What is a POST error message?

A POST error message is an error displayed on the monitor during the power-on self test if the BIOS encounters some kind of problem while starting the PC. It will only display on screen if the computer is capable of booting this far.

What causes POST error?

Incompatible components are one of the major reasons behind POST errors. Check if parts such as the RAM, motherboard, CPU, and graphics card are compatible with each other. In some cases, a motherboard firmware update may be required before installing a CPU.
