Why does Shadow take so long to activate?
Why do activation times occur? As demand increases for Shadow, our activation times see an increase, due to the long-lead components we need to order from vendors to build our cloud infrastructure to deliver the best gaming experience.
How long does Shadow PC take to activate?
Shadow takes a while to get set up, but you don't have to be hands-on during that time. Outside of the 30-minute or so wait, the process is seamless, and after Shadow sends you the email saying your machine is ready, it truly is. It felt like using any other Windows 10 computer, which is great.
Is Shadow PC always on?
The short answer is no, unfortunately. Automatic shutdown was added with the intention of ensuring our users are using Shadow while the service is on.

Download speeds, upload speeds, and latency can affect your Shadow's stream, including resolution, sound, and input lag. Run a speed test to see if your connection meets our requirements. To get the best out of your Shadow, your connection must have: a stable download speed of at least 15Mb/s.
