What is STUN client?

Client. STUN is a toolset for NAT traversal in IP networks. Originally it was intended for usage with UDP datagrams, but has later been extended to work with other transports, as well. STUN Client Test Suite can be used for evaluating STUN client implementations for security flaws and robustness problems.

STUN is a tool for communications protocols to detect and traverse network address translators that are located in the path between two endpoints of communication.

STUN uses UDP, and STUN servers typically listen for UDP requests on port 3478. For a client to use STUN, their network must allow UDP traffic.
