What is torsocks used for?

torsocks is a wrapper between the torsocks library and the application in order to make every Internet communication go through the Tor network. By default, torsocks will assume that it should connect to the Tor SOCKS proxy running at 127.0. 0.1 on port 9050 being the defaults of the Tor daemon.

What is the usage of Torify?

The torify command can be used to run any command through tor. The redirect to /dev/null is used because torify generates a handful of warnings on some platforms. If all goes well, you should see the IP address you're getting after going through Tor.
